A NEW CLASS OF DIFFERENCE SCHEMES FOR LINEAR PARABOLIC DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS |

| Abstract: | Abstract A new class of difference schemes is derived by the method of reduction of order for generally linear parabolic differential equations with various conditions. It is shown in energy norm that the schemes are unconditionally stable to the inhomogeneous terms and initial values and convergent with the convergence rate of order two. The scheme is a three point one in 1-D and a nine-point one in 2-D about space variables. Some numerical examples and comparisons with other four known schemes are presented. |
