Abstract: | Treatment of N‐heterocyclic silylene SiN(tBu)CH]2 ( 1 ) and (η3‐C3H5)PdCl]2 in toluene led to the formation of the mononuclear complex (η3‐C3H5)Pd{SiN(tBu)CH]2}Cl ( 3 ), the silicon analogue to N‐heterocyclic carbene complex (η3‐C3H5)Pd{CN(tBu)CH]2}Cl ( 2 ). Complex 3 was characterized with 1H NMR and 13C NMR. Investigation shows that (η3‐C3H5)Pd{SiN(tBu)CH]2}Cl is an active catalyst for Heck coupling reaction of styrene with aryl bromides. |
