Simultaneous Determination of Dopamine and Uric Acid by Electrocatalytic Oxidation on a Carbon Paste Electrode Using Pyrogallol Red as a Mediator
Abstract:A sensitive and selective electrochemical method for the simultaneous determination of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) was developed using a pyrogallol red modified carbon paste electrode. Under the optimized conditions, the peak current was linearly dependent on 1.0–700.0 μmol L?1 DA and 50.0–1000.0 μmol L?1 UA. The detection limits for DA and UA were 0.78 μmol L?1 and 35 μmol L?1, respectively. Finally, this method was also examined for the determination of DA and uric acid in real samples such as drugs and urine.
