Rank-k-preservers and preservers of sets of ranks

Let T be a linear transformation on the set of m × n matrices with entries in an algebraically closed field. If T maps the set of all matrices whose rank is k into itself, and if$\text{n?}\text{3}\text{k}\text{2}$, then the rank of A is the rank of T(A) for every m × n matrix.
