Absorption and gain of laser dyes with picosecond pumping

Abstract:
Using a passively mode-locked Nd:YAG laser, the absorption and gain of oxazine 1 and 9 were examined. Picosecond pumping is shown to have better gain efficiency and wavelength tunability than nanosecond pumping.
