Homoclinic solutions for second‐order discrete Hamiltonian systems with asymptotically quadratic potentials

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence of infinitely many homoclinic solutions for the second‐order self‐adjoint discrete Hamiltonian system urn:x-wiley:01704214:media:mma2989:mma2989-math-0001, where urn:x-wiley:01704214:media:mma2989:mma2989-math-0002, urn:x-wiley:01704214:media:mma2989:mma2989-math-0003 and urn:x-wiley:01704214:media:mma2989:mma2989-math-0004 are unnecessarily positive definites for all urn:x-wiley:01704214:media:mma2989:mma2989-math-0005. By using the variant fountain theorem, we obtain an existence criterion to guarantee that the aforementioned system has infinitely many homoclinic solutions under the assumption that W(n,x) is asymptotically quadratic as | x | → + ∞ .
