| Abstract: | | 1. | Benzoyl peroxide and the Fe(CO)5 + DMF system initiate the addition of iodochloromethane to vinyltrimethylsilane and 1-heptene with cleavage of the C-I bond in iodochloromethane. | | 2. | The 1,3-iodochloro adducts disproportionate by the action of the Fe(CO)5 + DMF system at 140°C to form 1,3-diiodo and 1,3-dichloro derivatives. |
