Orientation of luminescence centers in self-activated ZnS crystals

Results concerning polarization of the self-activated (SA) luminescence in ZnS crystals are presented. It is assumed that the orientations of absorption centers — circular oscillators (rotators) — and emission centers — rotators and dipoles — are along the crystal 3-fold symmetry axes. The calculated polarization diagrams fit well to experimental results.
