Coherent control of a two-channel ionization system

The effects of the relative phase of the four lasers on the steady state photoelectron spectrum in a two channel ionization system in which the intermediate states are two sets of quasicontinuaum states are investigated. The condition leading to the atomic coherent population trapping and the coherent population trapping state are given explicitly. The dependence of the amount of population trapped in the atomic bound states on the laser intensities, the detunings and the energy spacings of quasicontinuum states is discussed.
