Abstract:
Flash Vacuum Thermolysis of 1,5-bis-(1-chloroethenyl)anthracene (6) gives cyclopenthi]-aceanthrylene (2) which at T≥9000 °C rearranges to cyclopenthi]acephenanthrylene (1). This conversion occurs more readily than that of the monocyclopenta-fused aceanthrylene to acephenanthrylene.
