Matrix method for solving the Sturm-Liouville problem

We consider the application of the matrix method to constructing an approximate solution of the regular Sturm-Liouville problem with conditions of first, second, third, and mixed types. All these cases are reduced to a homogeneous algebraic system and its characteristic equation.
