| Abstract: | Reaction of 1, 3-dimethylbenzimidazolone and its 5-methyl and 5-chloro derivatives with  -valerolactone in presence of anhydrous aluminum chloride gives the corresponding 6-(1 -methyl-3-carboxypropyl)-benzimidazolones. |
