Abstract:The infra-red spectra of gaseous (SiH3)2CN2 and its deuterated analogue have been obtained in the range 4000–250 cm−1, and the Raman spectrum of the former has been recorded. From a consideration of the selection rules, it is concluded that the molecule is a derivative of carbodiimide and not a disubstituted cyanamide.
