| Abstract: | The deoxygenation of a variety of sulfoxides, selenoxides, telluroxides, sulfones, selenones and tellurones has been reported with Mg-MeOH at room temperature in nearly quantitative yields. The deoxygenation is proposed to proceed by SET from Mg to the substrate. |
