Abstract: | This paper investigates the phenomenon of stochastic resonance in asingle-mode laser driven by quadratic pump noise andamplitude-modulated signal. A new linear approximation approach isadvanced to calculate the signal-to-noise ratio. In the linearapproximation only the drift term is linearized, the multiplicativenoise term is unchangeable. It is found that there appears not onlythe standard form of stochastic resonance but also the broad senseof stochastic resonance, especially stochastic multiresonanceappears in the curve of signal-to-noise ratio as a function ofcoupling strength $lambda $ between the real and imaginary parts ofthe pump noise. |
