| Abstract: | An adiabatic scanning calorimeter has been used to investigate the temperature dependence of the enthalpy and the heat capacity near phase transitions in the cholesteric liquid crystal cholesteryl oleate (CO). It is found that the blue phases in CO are thermodynamically stable and that the observed enthalpy differences between the phases are small. |
