Final state spin dependence and mechanism of the Al(d, α)Mg and Mg(d, α)Na reactions

Differential cross section excitation functions and vector analysing powers of the ²⁷Al(d,α)²⁵Mg reaction and the vector analysing power of the ²⁵Mg(d, α)²³Na reaction were measured for incident deuteron energies up to 12.3 MeV. An attempt was made to describe the results obtained with the statistical model using the autocorrelation function method. A distinct dependence of the cross section and vector analysing power results upon the spin of the final state was observed.
