Abstract:Six macroporous polystyrene-supported PEG catalysts were prepared. These catal-ysts have higher catalytic activity than microporous polystyrene-supported catalysts in nu-cleophilic substitution reactions. The activity of the catalysts were highly affected by thedegree of crosslinking of the polystyrene resin, the chain length of PEG supported on polysty-rene resin, the dielectric constant of the solvents and the times of recycling of the catalysts,
