| Abstract: | The Mannich reaction is used to obtain 2-(β-diethylaminoethyl)-5-vinylpyridine from 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine. Decomposition of a quaternary salt of 2-(β-diethylaminoethyl)-5-vinylpyridine gives 2, 5-divinylpyridine. |
