| Abstract: | Starting from hexafluoroacetone-protected (S)-glutamic acid, trans-5-fluoropipecolic and 5,5-difluoropipecolic acid have been synthesized. The piperidine ring was constructed by an intramolecular metal carbenoid NH insertion. |
