Abstract:Novel CO2 adsorbents were prepared by grafting aminosilanes on mesoporous silica MCM-41. The effects of solvent and temperature on the grafting of the amine group were studied. The results of thermal gravimetric analysis of the AEAPDMS-MCM-41s produced in different solvents revealed that the nonpolar solvent toluene and the aprotic polar solvent THF are beneficial to the amine group modification reaction. The CO2 adsorption capacity of AEAPDMS-MCM-41s produced in toluene had a relatively high value of 2.20 mmol⋅g−1.
