Abstract: | Four types of isotropic materials are considered: two- and three-component elastic particulate composite materials and magnetoelastic materials with perfect and real conductivity. Models (elastic mixture and magnet?elasticity) that describe the propagation of plane waves in such materials are briefly characterized. Some features of plane wave motion are analyzed for each of the four models. The models are compared and general similarities and differences in the description of the wave pattern are revealed. To this end, we supplement the analysis of magnetoelastic waves using the similarity of their analytical description with that of waves in mixtures Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika, Vol. 44, No. 12, pp. 39–61, December 2008. |
