Application of similarity to research of new boundary integral equations for plate flexure problems

Abstract:Plate flexure problems are described by a system of boundary integral equations. It is shown that simpler equations can be obtained by using the properties of similarity between two plates. The exact solution of some problems pertaining to circular plates with a concentrated load is given. A sample problem is solved numerically to illustrate the potential of this new formulation.
