Abstract: | ![]() Aluminum hydride has been predicted to be a superconductor with a transition temperature of 24 K at 110 GPa, in disagreement with the experimental observation. In this work, it is shown that the bulk of the electron–phonon coupling can be associated with modes that are highly anharmonic according to frozen phonon calculations. This large anharmonicity could partially explain the origin of the disagreement between previous predictions and experiments. |
