Asymptotic investigation of turbulent buoyant jets

Results of a theoretical investigation are presented for the averaged characteristics of turbulent slightly swirling jets discharged vertically upward into a stagnant homogeneous medium. A semi-empirical model of turbulence is used to close the system of initial turbulent boundary layer equations. Exact and approximate analytical solutions are suggested. The results of calculations are compared with experimental and numerical data of other authors.
