Accuracy-enhancement scheme for the Sturm-Liouville equation

Enhanced-accuracy spline-difference schemes are constructed and analyzed for the one-dimensional Sturm-Liouville problem with piecewise-constant coefficients. Uniformmetric bounds are obtained for eigenvalues, eigenfunctions, and their derivatives.
