The effect of charge conservation on the distribution of spin near local moments in magnetized metals

The wavenumber-dependent magnetic susceptibility is calculated in an itinerant ferromagnet. Charge fluctuations are suppressed by the Coulomb potential. The result is shown to conserve charge. Specifically, the distribution of spin around an impurity is discussed and compared with other calculations which do not conserve charge.
