Abstract: | This review summarizes and discusses the analytical methods and techniques more frequently described in the literature for vapor generation as a mode of sample introduction into atomization/excitation cells. The volatile compounds have been classified into the following classes: hydrides, oxides, chelates, alkyls and halides. To estimate the well-established trends and tendencies, some representative papers devoted to vapor generation are mentioned. Special emphasis is given to discuss the advantages and analytical applications of chloride generation. |
