| Abstract: | After transforming the ridge waveguide into an equivalent slab waveguide by means of the effective index method, we have derived the expression of mode absorptive loss coefficient using the differentiation method. Based on. thes method, the optical characteristies of the ridge weak absorptive dielectric waveguide can be easily analysed and calculated with high accuracy. |
