Abstract: | Using recent results of the dependence of the surface tension and nuclear equilibrium density of temperature from an extended Fermi gas model the influence of temperature (compound nuclear excitation energy) on the liquid drop deformation energy and fission barrier height is studied. It is shown that increasing the temperature results in a lower fission barrier and a less constricted saddle point shape. |
