An estimate of the hindrance factors for γ-ray transitions near the neutron binding energy from the reaction ¹⁴³Nd(n, γα)¹⁴⁰Ce

Abstract:	The reaction ¹⁴³Nd(n, γα)¹⁴⁰Ce has been investigated at the 55.3 eV resonance. A theoretical analysis has been carried out, yielding lower limits for the hindrance factors of γ-ray transitions between highly excited states close to the neutron binding energy. Some evidence for the predominance of M1 transitions in this energy region was found.
