A new proof of proximinality for  -ideals |

| Abstract: | We give a new and a simple proof of proximinality for  -ideals. Unlike the known proofs, our proof derives proximinality of  -ideals directly from the definition of an  -ideal, using the Bishop-Phelps theorem. |
