SYNTHESIS OF HIGHLY SUBSTITUTED 1,6-NAPHTHYRIDINES: A REINVESTIGATION

ABSTRACT

A reinvestigation of the recently described method of synthesis of highly substituted 1,6-naphthyridines was carried out. It was found out that the reaction of chalcones with malononitrile catalysed by pyrrolidine afforded the mixture of four products both when thermal as well as microwave heating was used.
