Abstract: | Summary Proteins were visualized by postcolumn mixing with 2-p-toluidinyl-6-naphthalene sulfonate or 1-anilino-8-naphthalene sulfonate in size-exclusion chromatography. The indirect detection is based on fluorescence enhancement of the fluorescence probe owing to hydrophobic interaction with proteins. Bovine serum albumin gave the highest signal intensity among the proteins examined. |
