Abstract: | The Japanese electron synchrotron started operation on December 15, 1961, with energy of 750 MeV at the Institute for Nuclear Study (INS) of the University of Tokyo, Tanashi. It was established as a joint effort of the entire Japanese community of high-energy physicists so that its use was announced as being open to all Japanese users from the start. |
