Elektronenspin-Resonanz von Stickstoffzentren in Alkalihalogenid-Kristallen

Paramagnetic nitrogen centers are produced in nitrate doped single crystals of KCl, KBr, KJ, and NaCl by introduction of F-centers. The electron spin resonance is studied at low temperature. The hyperfine structure of the lines is caused by interaction with two N¹⁴ nuclei. The angle dependence of the resonance spectra is measured by rotating the crystals about several crystallographic axes. The results can be fitted to a spin-Hamiltonian with orthorhombic symmetry. The components of theg-tensor and theA-tensor are determined. The centers are believed to be N ₂ ^? -ions in negative ion vacancies.
