Abstract: | The flow and heat transfer in a medium near the critical point (second-kind liquid-gas phase transition) in a stationary and
oscillating mass force field is considered in relation to the experiments conducted in microgravity. The conditions of onset
of a mean convective flow and the characteristic nondimensional parameters describing the vibrational and thermo-gravitational
convection in the medium are analyzed. It is shown that even low-frequency and small-amplitude vibrations or steady microaccelerations
can induce appreciable convective flows.
