| Abstract: | The use of ultrasonic irradiation for the selective synthesis of sulfone in the oxidation of sulfides with NaIO4 catalyzed by Mn(Salophen) supported on chloromethylated polystyrene-bound imidazole, Mn(Salophene)-PSI], is reported. This heterogeneous catalyst efficiently catalyzed selective oxidation of sulfides to sulfones under ultrasonic irradiation and no sulfoxide was detected in the reaction mixture. |
