Abstract: | L‐Cystine (‐SCH2· CHNH2· COOH), having the morphology of hexagonal plates, an amino acid constituent of urinary stone, is crystallized in silica gel under suitable pH conditions by double diffusion method. The grown crystals were characterized by density measurement, Fourier transform infra‐red spectroscopy, X‐ray powder diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
