| Abstract: | | 1. | Determination of base pKa's in nonaqueous solution by potentiometric titration is discussed, the case considered being that in which base protonization is masked by BHB+ complex formation and incomplete salt (ion pair) dissociation. | | 2. | Using a new nitromethane pH scale based on picrate buffers, pKa (CH3NO2) values for various azobases have been determined from potentiometric titration data. |
