Far-field properties of non-paraxial elliptical Gaussian beams

By using the Rayleigh diffraction integral formula, a far-field asymptotic solution of the wave equation is found, which represents non-paraxial elliptical Gaussian beams. The basic properties of such beams are studied, and a comparison with the previous work is also made.

Propagation properties of partially coherent Hermiteben Gaussian beams through non-Kolmogorov turbulence

The propagation properties of partially coherent Hermite—Gaussian beams through non-Kolmogorov atmospheric turbulence are studied. The effects of non-Kolmogorov turbulence and beam nonparaxiality on the average intensity evolution and the beam-width spreading are stressed. It is found that the evolution of the average intensity distribution and the beam-width spreading depends on the generalized exponent factor, namely, on the non-Kolmogorov turbulence strength for the paraxial case. For the non-paraxial case the effect of the turbulence is negligible, while the beam-width spreading becomes very large. The analytical results are illustrated numerically and interpreted physically.     

非傍轴矢量高斯光束单缝衍射的严格理论

Partially coherent non-paraxial vectorial Hermite-Gaussian beams and their far-field properities

The far-field theory of partially coherent vectorial non-paraxial beams is expanded and their analytical propagation expressions of the Wigner distribution function matrices and the cross-spectral-density matrices in free space are derived using the far-field approximation. Some interesting cases, in particular the vectorial non-paraxial partially coherent Hermite-Gaussian (HG) beams, are discussed and treated as special cases of our general expressions. It is shown that the f_σ and f parameters play an important role in determining vector and non-paraxiality of partially coherent HG beams. When two parameters are small enough, scalar and paraxial vectorial approximation is allowed; otherwise, non-paraxial vectorial approximation is applied. But the decided parameters additionally affect their far-field divergence angles.     

矢量效应对超短脉冲光束非傍轴传输的影响

从严格的矢量非傍轴传输方程出发,并通过傅里叶变换及角谱分析的方法,分析了在超短脉冲光束中,矢量效应对其在自由空间中的非傍轴传输的影响。结果表明,矢量效直对脉冲光束的标量傍轴解的修正有着重要的影响,当对脉冲光束进行非傍轴传输处理时,必须考虑它的矢量特性。基于上述分析,得到了支配超短脉冲光束传输的矢量非傍轴方程的一个完整积分解。从这个积分解出发,通过对电场进行泰勒级数展开的方法,得到了一种相对简单的方法,通过这种方法,可以从脉冲光束的已知标量傍轴解来求出矢量非傍轴波动方程的相对精确解。     

Non-paraxial Elliptical Gaussian Beam

By using the methods of Hertz vector and angular spectrum transormation, the exact solution of non-paraxial elliptical Gaussion beam with general astigmatism based on Maxwell′s equations is obtained. We discussed its propagation characteristics. The results show that the orientation of the elliptical beam spot changes continuously as the beam propagates through isotropic media. Splitting or coupling of beam spots may occur for different initial spot size. This is very different from that of paraxial elliptical Gaussian beam.     

自聚焦克尔类电介质中非傍轴光束调制非稳的研究

将非傍轴效应等效为四阶空间色散、五阶非线性效应和自陡峭效应加以处理.利用线性稳定法研究非傍轴光束在非线性克尔介质中的传播稳定性.理论分析和数值模拟均表明，入射功率p₀和非傍轴参量a决定非傍轴光束调制非稳增益谱呈现出三种不同的分布规律，并给出相应判据以区分三种不同分布. 关键词： 非傍轴光束 调制非稳 增益谱 克尔介质
