A reflective subuniverse in homotopy type theory is an internal version of the notion of a localization in topology or in the theory of ∞-categories. Working in homotopy type theory, we give new characterizations of the following conditions on a reflective subuniverse L: (1) the associated subuniverse L of L-separated types is a modality; (2) L is a modality; (3) L is a lex modality; and (4) L is a cotopological modality. In each case, we give several necessary and sufficient conditions. Our characterizations involve various families of maps associated to L, such as the L-étale maps, the L-equivalences, the L-local maps, the L-connected maps, the unit maps ηX, and their left and/or right orthogonal complements. More generally, our main theorem gives an overview of how all of these classes related to each other. We also give examples that show that all of the inclusions we describe between these classes of maps can be strict.  相似文献

In this paper, He’s homotopy perturbation method (HPM) is applied for solving linear programming (LP) problems. This paper shows that some recent findings about this topic cannot be applied for all cases. Furthermore, we provide the correct application of HPM for LP problems. The proposed method has a simple and graceful structure. Finally, a numerical example is displayed to illustrate the proposed method.  相似文献

The series solutions of unsteady flows of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid caused by an impulsively rotating infinite disk are given by means of an analytic technique, namely the homotopy analysis method. Using a set of new similarity transformations, we transfer the Navier–Stokes equations into a pair of nonlinear partial differential equations. The convergent series solutions are obtained, which are uniformly valid for all dimensionless time 0 ≤ τ < ∞ in the whole spatial region 0 ≤ η < ∞. To the best of our knowledge, such kind of series solutions have never been reported. The effect of magnetic number on the velocity is investigated.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear Neumann problem driven by the p  -Laplacian plus an indefinite potential and a Carathéodory reaction which at ±∞ is resonant with respect to any nonprincipal variational eigenvalue of the differential operator. Using critical point theory and Morse theory (critical groups), we show that the problem has at least three nontrivial smooth solutions, two of which have constant sign. In the process we prove some results of independent interest concerning the unique continuation property of eigenfunctions and the critical groups at infinity of a C1C1-functionals.  相似文献

The current paper presents a thorough study on the pull-in instability of nanoelectromechanical rectangular plates under intermolecular, hydrostatic, and thermal actuations. Based on the Kirchhoff theory along with Eringen's nonlocal elasticity theory, a nonclassical model is developed. Using the Galerkin method(GM), the governing equation which is a nonlinear partial differential equation(NLPDE) of the fourth order is converted to a nonlinear ordinary differential equation(NLODE) in the time domain. Then, the reduced NLODE is solved analytically by means of the homotopy analysis method. At the end, the effects of model parameters as well as the nonlocal parameter on the deflection, nonlinear frequency, and dynamic pull-in voltage are explored.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to obtain the approximation solution of linear and strong nonlinear weakly singular Volterra integral equation of the second kind, especially for such a situation that the equation is of nonsmooth solution and the situation that the problem is a strong nonlinear problem. For this purpose, we firstly make a transform to the equation such that the solution of the new equation is as smooth as we like. Through modifying homotopy perturbation method, an algorithm is successfully established to solve the linear and nonlinear weakly singular Volterra integral equation of the second kind. And the convergence of the algorithm is proved strictly. Comparisons are made between our method and other methods, and the results reveal that the modified homotopy perturbation is effective.  相似文献

A key step in the numerical computation of the irreducible decomposition of a polynomial system is the computation of a witness superset of the solution set. In many problems involving a solution set of a polynomial system, the witness superset contains all the needed information. Sommese and Wampler gave the first numerical method to compute witness supersets, based on dimension-by-dimension slicing of the solution set by generic linear spaces, followed later by the cascade homotopy of Sommese and Verschelde. Recently, the authors of this article introduced a new method, regeneration, to compute solution sets of polynomial systems. Tests showed that combining regeneration with the dimension-by-dimension algorithm was significantly faster than naively combining it with the cascade homotopy. However, in this article, we combine an appropriate randomization of the polynomial system with the regeneration technique to construct a new cascade of homotopies for computing witness supersets. Computational tests give strong evidence that regenerative cascade is superior in practice to previous methods.  相似文献
