Enhanced Luminescence of Europium by Gadolinium and Its Application

Abstract

The fluorescence enhancement of the Eu-dibenzoylmethane(DBM)- cetylpyridinium-chloride (CPC) system was studied. The fluorescence intensity of the system can be greatly increased by Gd³⁺ in the presence of triethanolamine(TEA). The optimum conditions for enhanced fluorescence of the Eu-Gd-DBM-CPC system were examined. It was a linear function of the Eu³⁺ concentration in the range of 1.0×10^?10～1.0×10^?8 mol dm^?3 under the optimized conditions. The detection limit was 2.6 × 10¹¹ mol dm^?3 in an aqueous solution at pH=7.5～9.5.

The Eu-Gd-DBM-CPC system was applied to the determination of europium in rare earth oxides with satisfactory results. The mechanism of enhanced fluorescence was discussed.     

Syntheses and electroluminescent properties of two europium ternary complexes Eu(DBM)3(PBO) and Eu(DBM)3(PBT)

Two europium complexes, Eu(DBM)₃(PBO) and Eu(DBM)₃(PBT) (DBM=dibenzoylmethanato, PBO=2-(2-pyridyl)benzoxazole, PBT=2-(2-pyridyl)benzothiazole), were prepared and used as emitting materials in organic electroluminescent (EL) devices. The devices with the structures ITO/TPD/Eu(DBM)₃(PBO) (or Eu(DBM)₃(PBT)/BCP/Alq₃/Mg:Ag/Ag emit red light originating from the europium complexes.

Synthesis,X-ray crystal structure and photophysical properties of tris(dibenzoylmethanido)(1,10-phenanthroline)samarium(III)

Herein we report for the first time the complete characterization and photophysical properties of tris(dibenzoylmethanido)(1,10-phenanthroline)samarium(III) (Sm(DBM)₃phen) in the absence of a polymer matrix. The solid state structure of Sm(DBM)₃phen has been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography and shows the geometry of the local coordination environment around the samarium(III) ion to be a slightly distorted square antiprism. The absolute quantum yield and luminescence lifetime were measured as 0.86 ± 0.40% and 41 ± 2 μs, respectively.     

稀土掺杂铕(Ⅲ)二苯甲酰甲烷邻菲咯啉三元配合物的合成和荧光性质

合成了 3个系列稀土掺杂铕二苯甲酰甲烷 (Hdbm)邻菲咯啉 (phen)三元配合物 Eux RE1 -x(dbm) 3 phen(RE=La,Y,Gd;x=0 .0 0、0 .1 0、0 .30、0 .5 0、0 .70、0 .80、0 .90、1 .0 0 ) ,通过元素分析、摩尔电导率、红外光谱、X射线粉末衍射对配合物进行了表征。对各配合物系列进行荧光光谱研究 ,发现 L a3 、Y3 和 Gd3 对Eu3 离子均有荧光增敏作用 ,其荧光增敏顺序为 L a3 >Y3 >Gd3 。     

Development of a PVC-membrane ion-selective bulk optode,for UO<Stack><Subscript>2</Subscript><Superscript>2+</Superscript></Stack> ion,based on tri-<Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis>-octylphosphine oxide and dibenzoylmethane

A novel uranyl ion-selective bulk optode membrane, incorporating tri-n-octylphosphine oxide for cation recognition and a lipophilic chromoionophore dibenzoylmethane, has been prepared. The PVC membrane composition was optimized to result in the widest working concentration range. The response range of the proposed optode is 4.1×10^–6 to 2.0×10^–4 mol L^–1 UO₂²⁺. The probe works at pH 4.0. Ion interference is low and selectivity, reproducibility, and stability are good.
