Temperature dependence of the properties of strong-coupling bipolaron in a quantum dot (QD) is studied based on the Lee-Low-Pines-Huybrechts variational method and quantum statistical theory. Results of the numerical calculation show that the vibration frequency as well as the absolute value of the induced potential and the effective potential all increase with increasing coupling strength and temperature, respectively, and they also increase with decreasing relative distance of electrons. The bipolarons are closer and more stable when the temperature is higher and coupling strength is larger. The influence of radius of QD and dielectric constant ratio on the effective potential is little.  相似文献

We observed the Raman spectra of carriers, positive polarons and bipolarons, generated in a poly(2,5-bis(3-tetradecylthiophen-2-yl)thieno[3,2-b]thiophene) (PBTTT-C14) film by FeCl3 vapor doping. Electrical conductivity and Raman measurements indicate that the dominant carriers in the conducting state were bipolarons. We identified positive polarons and bipolarons generated in an ionic-liquid-gated transistor (ILGT) fabricated with PBTTT-C14 as an active semiconductor and an ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide [BMIM][TFSI] as a gate dielectric using Raman spectroscopy. The relationship between the source−drain current (ID) at a constant source−drain voltage (VD) and the gate voltage (VG) was measured. ID increased above −VG = 1.1 V and showed a maximum at −VG = 2.0 V. Positive polarons were formed at the initial stage of electrochemical doping (−VG = 0.8 V). As ID increased, positive bipolarons were formed. Above VG = −2.0 V, bipolarons were dominant. The charge density (n), the doping level (x), and the mobility of the bipolarons were calculated from the electrochemical measurements. The highest mobility (μ) of bipolarons was 0.72 cm2 V−1 s−1 at x = 110 mol%/repeating unit (−VG = 2.0 V), whereas the highest μ of polarons was 4.6 × 10−4 cm2 V−1 s−1 at x = 10 mol%.  相似文献

We use the single-path-integral to calculate the impedance function of the polaron and bipolaron in quantum confinement with the presence of the external fields. The expectation values of the classical equation of motion is considered in order to obtain the impedance function. The mobility of the polaron and bipolaron in quantum confinement is also calculated in the direction parallel and perpendicular to the magnetic field. Without trapping, we also calculate the effective mass of the bipolaron in the magnetic field.  相似文献

Applications of conducting polymers to biosensors have recently aroused much interest. This is because these molecular electronic materials offer control of different parameters such as polymer layer thickness, electrical properties and bio-reagent loading, etc. Moreover, conducting polymer based biosensors are likely to cater to the pressing requirements such as biocompatibility, possibility of in vivo sensing, continuous monitoring of drugs or metabolites, multi-parametric assays, miniaturization and high information density. Bipolaron states in a quasi-0D quantum dot with a spherical parabolic confinement potential are investigated by applying the Feynman variational principle. The bipolaron coupling energy and self-action potential energy are found to increase with an increase in the Fröhlich electron–phonon-coupling constant. There is also a non-monotonic dependence of the bipolaron coupling energy on the quantum dot radius. With decreasing structure radius the bipolaron coupling energy increases. However, from a critical radius it starts decreasing as the radius decreases, due to the dominance of the coulomb-to-phonon mediated interaction. When electrons in the bipolaron are forcefully neighboured, the polarization of the structure is intensified and consequently there is Coulomb repulsion. The possibility of bipolaron formation depends on the strength of the direct Coulomb repulsion which, in turn, depends on the quantum dot radius. The main contribution to the bipolaron coupling energy comes from the self-action potential. This self-action potential energy influences the energy state of the bipolaron considerably. The ratio of optical-to-static dielectric constants significantly affects the bipolaron coupling energy.  相似文献
