Based on Galois Field (GF(q)) multiplicative group, a new coding scheme for Quasi-Cyclic Low-Density Parity-Check (QC-LDPC) codes is proposed, and the new coding scheme has some advantages such as the simpler construction, the easier implementation encoding, the lower complexity of the encoding and decoding, the more flexible adjustment of the code length as well as the code rate and so forth. Under the condition of considering the characteristics of optical transmission systems, an irregular QC-LDPC (3843,3603) code to be suitable for optical transmission systems is constructed by applying the proposed new coding scheme. The simulation result shows that the net coding gain (NCG) of the irregular QC-LDPC (3843,3603) code is respectively improved 2.14 dB, 1.19 dB, 0.24 dB and 0.14 dB more than those of the classic RS (255,239) code in ITU-T G.975, the LDPC (32640,30592) code in ITU-T G.975.1, the regular SCG-LDPC (3969,3720) code constructed by the Systematically Constructed Gallager (SCG) coding scheme and the regular QC-LDPC (4221,3956) code at the bit error rate (BER) of 10-8. Furthermore, all the five codes have the same code rate of 93.7%. Therefore, the irregular QC-LDPC (3843,3603) code constructed by the proposed new coding scheme has the more excellent error-correction performance and can be better suitable for optical transmission systems.  相似文献

In this paper, a fiber optic communication system has been employed using co-existing 10 G/2.5 G asymmetric gigabit passive optical network (XG-PON) architecture. In this system, bidirectional optical fiber has been used for upstream and downstream data transmission. The system performance has been investigated for non-return-to-zero (NRZ) and return-to-zero (RZ) data formats operating at varying bit rates by varying the length of the fiber for analyzing the feasibility of this co-existence. The results have been compared for NRZ and RZ formats for upstream and downstream data in terms of Q value and eye opening. It is observed that RZ modulation format is superior as compared to conventional NRZ format and the faithful transmission of signal has been carried up to 90 km at 1577 nm for downstream and 140 km at 1270 nm for upstream.  相似文献

Pointing errors caused by the atmospheric turbulence will degrade the performance of free space optical (FSO) communication systems, especially the bit error rate (BER). In this paper, we innovatively analyze the relationship between BER and pointing errors by the probability density functions (PDFs) and intensity displacement in focal plane under the On-Off Keying (OOK) modulation conditions. The closed-loop experimental system is set up in laboratory, where the fast steering mirror (FSM) is real-time controlled by embedded controller with the parallel processing technology and the atmospheric turbulence is simulated by a turbulence simulation box. The results of repeated experiments show that the method of pointing errors correction we proposed is efficient under the conditions of atmospheric turbulence. By utilizing our method, the BER can decrease from nearly 10−3 to nearly or even below 10−9, thus improving the performance of FSO communication systems significantly.  相似文献

We research an efficient BER estimation method for 112-Gb/s polarization division multiplexing coherent optical OFDM (PDM CO-OFDM) with QPSK mapping over 800 km SSMF based on Eb/No algorithm in this paper. We first lay out the related formulas’ derivation to set up the theoretical basis for the feasibility of Eb/No algorithm and then we implement a series of simulations to illustrate the relationship of BER (and Q factor) versus OSNR, launch power of transmitter, chromatic dispersion and nonlinearity in optical fiber link via both Eb/No algorithm and Monte Carlo algorithm. The simulations demonstrate that BER estimated by Eb/No algorithm can achieve a precision up to 10−16 just with 105 bits while Monte Carlo algorithm needs at least 1018 bits to get the same level. Therefore, Eb/No allows a quick and reliable method for BER estimation instead of the time consuming Monte Carlo method, which can be used to support simulations with various conditions.  相似文献

We investigated 20 channels at 10 Gb/s wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) transmission over 1190 km single mode fiber and dispersion compensating fiber using cascaded inline semiconductor optical amplifier at a span of 70 km for RZ-DPSK (return zero differential phase-shift keying) modulation format by using same channel spacing, i.e. 100 GHz. We show for RZ-OOK (return zero on-off keying) format a transmission distance of up to 1050 km with Q factor more than 15 dB, without any power drops. We developed the SOA model for inline amplifier having minimum cross-talks and ASE (amplified spontaneous emission) noise power with sufficient gain. At optimal bias current of 400 mA, a high constant gain of 36.5 dB is obtained up to a saturation power of 21.36 mW. So reduction of cross-talk and distortion is possible by decreasing the bias current at appropriate amplification factor.The DPSK modulation format has less cross-talk as compared to OOK format for nonlinearities and saturation case. The impact of optical power received and Q factor at different distance for both RZ-OOK and RZ-DPSK modulation format has been illustrated. We have shown the optical spectrum and clear Eye diagram at the transmission distance of 1190 km in RZ-DPSK system and 1050 km in RZ-OOK systems.The bit error rate (BER) for all channels observed is less than 10−10 up to gain saturation for both DPSK and OOK systems. Finally, we investigated that the transmission distance decreases with a decrease in channel spacing of up to 20 GHz.  相似文献

从分析大气对光无线通信系统的影响出发,研究了大气信道特性,建立了大气信道信噪比和能见度的关系.为降低系统误码率,提出了基于OOK、BPSK、BPPM三种调制模式的turbo码的编码方案,推导出三种不同方案对应的turbo码迭代MAP算法.应用建立的信噪比关系,分析和计算了基于三种不同方案的系统的误码率.结果表明,基于BPSK的turbo码系统比OOK和BPPM系统的信噪比降低约3dB,且在高的信噪比情况下,BPSK系统能显著降低系统的误码率.因此,基于BPSK的turbo码方案较适合光无线通信系统.  相似文献

大气信道中的大气湍流是影响无线激光通信系统性能的主要因素之一, 其引起的强度闪烁效应会对接收信号的提取和还原造成很大干扰。基于Gamma-Gamma概率分布的大气湍流信道统计模型, 研究了利用副载波相移键控(PSK)强度调制技术的大气光通信系统的误码特性; 推导了副载波二进制相移键控(BPSK)及开关键控(OOK)两种调制模式下的系统误码率表达式; 对在一定条件下的大气光通信系统, 比较了副载波BPSK和OOK两种调制模式的误码特性; 分析了链路特征、接收口径尺寸、通信波长和天顶角等因素对系统误码率的影响。结果表明, 增大接收孔径和通信波长都能有效地降低系统误码率, 而天顶角的增大则会使系统误码率增加, 副载波BPSK调制模式的误码特性要优于OOK调制模式的误码特性。  相似文献

提出了一种利用遗传算法构造任意码长、码重、自相关限、互相关限光正交码(GA-OOC)的方法,设计了新的码字矩阵;分析了基于GA-OOC的光CDMA系统的误码率性能。仿真结果表明:该算法具有构造算法简单、易于编程实现的特点;与基于PC,EPC,QC和BIBD-OOC的光码分多址系统相比,GA-OOC的光码分多址系统具有更好的误码率性能。GA-OOC有望用于构造二维光地址码。  相似文献
