We demonstrate both analytically and numerically the existence of optical pulling forces acting on particles located near plasmonic interfaces. Two main factors contribute to the appearance of this negative recoil force. The interference between the incident and reflected waves induces a rotating dipole with an asymmetric scattering pattern, while the directional excitation of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) enhances the linear momentum of scattered light. The strongly asymmetric SPP excitation is determined by spin–orbit coupling of the rotating dipole and surface plasmon polariton. As a result of the total momentum conservation, the force acting on the particle points in a direction opposite to the incident wave propagation. We derive analytical expressions for the force acting on dipolar particles placed in the proximity of plasmonic surfaces. Analytical expressions for this pulling force are derived within the dipole approximation and are in excellent agreement with results of electromagnetic numerical calculations. The forces acting on larger particles are analyzed numerically, beyond the dipole approximation.

A 8.95-kW walking tractor was evaluated for draft and drawbar power on tilled land. Empirical equations were developed to correlate the relationship between draft and wheel slip, drawbar power and wheel slip and drawbar power and fuel consumption. The values of draft, drawbar power and specific fuel consumption were calculated at 25% wheel slip. The results indicated that the values of draft on tilled land with pneumatic wheels at engine speed of 2000 rpm were 803 and 773 N in second low and third low gears, respectively. The respective draft values at engine speed of 1500 rpm were 748 and 735 N in second low and third low gears under slightly loose soil conditions. Mounting of a 40-kg wheel ballast increased the value of draft to 901 and 921 N at an engine speed of 2000 rpm and 872 and 888 N at an engine speed of 1500 rpm in second low and third low gears. Replacement of pneumatic wheels by steel wheels further increased the draft readings to 1034 and 999 N at an engine speed of 2000 rpm and 913 and 935 N at engine speed of 1500 rpm in second low and third low gears, respectively, indicating significant increase in drawbar power both at 2000 and 1500 rpm in second low and third low gears with the use of steel wheels. The specific fuel consumption decreased by about 28% and 27% at engine speed of 2000 rpm and about 17% and 21% at engine speed of 1500 rpm in second low and third low gear with the use of steel wheels over pneumatic wheels without wheel ballast. The specific fuel consumption decreased by about 4% and 14% at engine speed of 2000 rpm and 7% and 23% at engine speed of 1500 rpm in second low and third low gears, respectively, with the use of steel wheels over pneumatic wheels with 40 kg wheel ballast.  相似文献

The cone index (CI), as an indicator of the soil strength, is closely related to the traction performance of tractors. This study evaluates the traction performance of a tractor in terms of the CI during tillage. To analyze the traction performance, a field site was selected and divided into grids, and the CI values at each grid were measured. The CI maps of the field sites were created using the measured CI. The traction performance was analyzed using the measured traction load. The traction performance was grouped at CI intervals of 400 kPa to classify it in terms of the CI. When the CI decreased, the engine speed and tractive efficiency (TE) decreased, while the engine torque, slip ratio, axle torque, traction force, and dynamic traction ratio (DTR) increased. Moreover, the DTR increased up to approximately 13%, and the TE decreased up to 9%. The maximum TE in the DTR range of 0.45–0.55 was higher than approximately 80% for CI values above 1500 kPa. The DTR and TE results obtained in terms of the CI can help efficiently design tractors considering the soil environmental conditions.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the effect that the rear track width and additional weight placed on the wheels has on the stability of a tractor when driving on side slopes. With the help of a specially constructed test bench the reactions on the wheels under static load were measured for rear track width of 1500, 1650 and 1800 mm. The roll angle of the test bench was gradually increased. The analysis of the experimental results showed that the static limit of overturn was considerably improved, when the width of the rear track was 1650 mm and an additional weight had been used for the uphill wheel.  相似文献

This paper deals with the design and implementation of a double wishbone front suspension for a vineyard–orchard tractor, developed in conjunction with a major tractor brand.To date, independent front suspensions are only found on commercial tractors over 150 kW. A front suspended axle is recognized as a popular option in improving tractor ride performance on larger vehicles. Despite their narrow track, vineyard–orchard tractors are required to have good lateral stability and stability on slopes (i.e. at least 28° rollover angle) and an extremely tight turning diameter for a 4WD vehicle (less than 7 m).The discussion is concered with retrofitting an existing vehicle with a double wishbone front suspension.This paper focuses on the layout and kinematic analysis phases of the design process. These were conducted in collaboration with the vehicle manufacturer to demonstrate suspension feasibility in terms of available space and correct kinematic layout.The final kinematic turning diameter obtained is about 6.4 m, with a ±65 mm suspension travel available. The roll centre height value is not very sensitive to steering (about −95 mm excursion in the Z axis from no-steer position to full steer).  相似文献

Advances have been made to agricultural tractors to improve their ride comfort. However, the ride comfort of tractors is relatively low compared to that of passenger vehicles. Many researchers have developed various types of suspension for tractors. While most studies have focused on the geometry of the suspension, few studies have been carried out on the development of a control algorithm for tractor suspension.In this paper, to improve the ride comfort of an agricultural tractor, a hydro-pneumatic suspension model with a semi-active suspension control is developed with computer simulation, and the effectiveness of the suspension is evaluated before the vehicle is equipped with the suspension and placed into production.An optimal control algorithm for the semi-active suspension of the tractor is developed using a linear quadratic Gaussian. In the simulation, a hydro-pneumatic suspension system model is developed using SimulationX and is applied to a full vehicle model using MATLAB/Simulink. The suspension is assessed by experiments and simulations. The ride comfort using the ride comfort index according to ISO 2631 is evaluated by comparing a vehicle with a passive cab suspension to that with a hydro-pneumatic suspension applied with the semi-active control.  相似文献

An investigation was conducted to determine the noise propagation (under stationary condition) and noise at operator’s ear level of popular 18.7 and 26.1 kW tractors and 4.6 and 6.7 kW hand tractors during field operations with various implements. It was observed that both tractors produced the noise of 92 dB(A) Leq in the working zone of operator. The sound pressure level (SPL) of the hand tractor was about 2 dB(A) Leq higher than that of the tractor. The SPL during field operations at operator’s ear level increased with increase in engine speed and forward speed. Furthermore, the SPL was higher for field operations corresponding to the implement requiring higher draft. It was observed that the SPLs of the tractors and hand tractors were more than the exposure limit of noise for 8-h workday recommended by ISO and OSHA. This may cause health problems to the farmers in the long run.  相似文献
