POSITIVE SOLUTIONS TO(k,n-k) NONHOMOGENEOUS BOUNDARYVALUE PROBLEM

By the Schauder fixed point theory,this paper establishes the existence of positive solutions to a(k,n k) m-point boundary value problem.We show that there exists a positive constant b such that the problem has at least one positive solution when the homogeneous boundary parameter is smaller than b,and no positive solution when this parameter is greater than b.

Maximum Principle for Nonlinear Cooperative Elliptic Systems on R^N

We investigate in this work necessary and sufficient conditions for having a Maximum Principle for a cooperative elliptic system on the whole R^N. Moreover, we prove the existence of solutions by an approximation method for the considered system.

Controllability of nonlinear systems to affine manifolds

Controllability to an affine manifold involves controlling a system to a target defined by the generalized boundary condition x=r, where :C ⁿ R ⁿ is a bounded linear operator on the continuous functions, as defined for ordinary differential equations by Kartsatos. In this paper, sufficient conditions are obtained for such controllability for linear systems and for a class of nonlinear perturbations of linear systems.

On Ha＇s Version of Set-valued Ekeland＇s Variational Principle

By using the concept of cone extensions and Dancs-Hegedus-Medvegyev theorem, Ha [Some variants of the Ekeland variational principle for a set-valued map. J. Optim. Theory Appl., 124, 187–206 (2005)] established a new version of Ekeland’s variational principle for set-valued maps, which is expressed by the existence of strict approximate minimizer for a set-valued optimization problem. In this paper, we give an improvement of Ha’s version of set-valued Ekeland’s variational principle. Our proof is direct and it need not use Dancs-Hegedus-Medvegyev theorem. From the improved Ha’s version, we deduce a Caristi-Kirk’s fixed point theorem and a Takahashi’s nonconvex minimization theorem for set-valued maps. Moreover, we prove that the above three theorems are equivalent to each other.     

POSITIVE RADIAL SOLUTIONS OF FULLY NONLINEAR ELLIPTIC EQUATIONS IN R^n

By the Schauder-Tychonoff fixed-point theorem, we investigate the existence and asymptotic behavior of positive radial solutions of fully nonlinear elliptic equations in R^n. We give some sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of bounded and unbounded radial solutions and consider the nonexistence of positive solution in R^n.
