A semi-analytical solution is obtained for a rotating stress-free edge disk of constant thickness and density. In the plastic range, the Hill’s quadratic orthotropic yield criterion is adopted. In the elastic range, the Hooke’s law holds with thermal effects included. The analysis of singularities performed may be used for correct implementation of numerical codes and preliminary engineering design.  相似文献

We describe discrete maximal surfaces with singularities in 3-dimensional Minkowski space and give a Weierstrass type representation for them. In the smooth case, maximal surfaces (spacelike surfaces with mean curvature identically 0) in Minkowski 3-space generally have certain singularities. We give a criterion that naturally describes the “singular set” for discrete maximal surfaces, including a classification of the various types of singularities that are possible in the discrete case.  相似文献

We develop a non-singular, self-consistent framework for computing the stress field and the total elastic energy of a general dislocation microstructure. The expressions are self-consistent in that the driving force defined as the negative derivative of the total energy with respect to the dislocation position, is equal to the force produced by stress, through the Peach-Koehler formula. The singularity intrinsic to the classical continuum theory is removed here by spreading the Burgers vector isotropically about every point on the dislocation line using a spreading function characterized by a single parameter a, the spreading radius. A particular form of the spreading function chosen here leads to simple analytic formulations for stress produced by straight dislocation segments, segment self and interaction energies, and forces on the segments. For any value a>0, the total energy and the stress remain finite everywhere, including on the dislocation lines themselves. Furthermore, the well-known singular expressions are recovered for a=0. The value of the spreading radius a can be selected for numerical convenience, to reduce the stiffness of the dislocation equations of motion. Alternatively, a can be chosen to match the atomistic and continuum energies of dislocation configurations.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish the existence of viscosity solutions of Hessian equations with singular right-hand sides and obtain the asymptotic boundary behavior of solutions. The asymptotic results generalize those for Poisson equations and Monge-Ampère equations, and are more precise than obtained from Hopf lemma.  相似文献

We have shown in [1] that the invariant varieties of periodic points (IVPP) of all periods of some higher dimensional rational maps can be derived, iteratively, from the singularity confinement (SC). We generalize this algorithm, in this paper, to apply to any birational map, which has more invariants than the half of the dimension.  相似文献

A discrepancy is uncovered between two well documented solutions, to the uniquely solvable classical linearised sloping beach problem, by Peters in 1952 and independently by Roseau also in 1952 (though subsequently adjusted by personal correspondence from Roseau and Lehman to authors Wehausen & Laitone in 1960). The source of the main error (and other more minor errors) is identified, quantified and corrected and a consequence is that a study by Morris in 1976 (on a generalisation where the line source is no longer confined to the origin) will also have suffered from this deficiency. In this article some qualitative and geometric aspects of non-smooth dynamical systems theory are discussed. The main aim of this article is to develop a systematic method for studying local (and global) bifurcations in non-smooth dynamical systems. Our results deal with the classification and characterization of generic codimension-2 singularities of planar Filippov Systems as well as the presentation of the bifurcation diagrams and some dynamical consequences.  相似文献

This paper describes a prey-predator model with stage structure for prey. The adult prey and predator populations are harvested in the proposed system. The dynamic behavior of the model system is discussed. It is observed that singularity induced bifurcation phenomenon is appeared when variation of the economic interest of harvesting is taken into account. State feedback controller is incorporated to stabilize the model system in case of positive economic interest. Harvesting of prey and predator population are used as controls to develop a dynamic framework to investigate the optimal utilization of the resource, sustainability properties of the stock and the resource rent earned from the resource. The Pontryagin’s maximum principle is used to characterize the optimal controls. The optimality system is derived and then solved numerically using an iterative method with Runge-Kutta fourth order scheme. Simulation results show that the optimal control scheme can achieve sustainable ecosystem.  相似文献

In this paper, we continue the study of the periodic problem for the second-order equation u+f(u)u+g(u)=h(t,u), where h is a Carathéodory function and f,g are continuous functions on (0,+) which may have singularities at zero. Both attractive and repulsive singularities are considered. The method relies on a novel technique of construction of lower and upper functions. As an application, we obtain new sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic solutions to the Rayleigh–Plesset equation.  相似文献
