Structure of relatively free dimonoids

Loday introduced the notion of a dimonoid and constructed the free dimonoid. The paper concerns the variety theory of dimonoids. We recall and summarize the results obtained by Loday, the author as well as others on the structure of some relatively free dimonoids. This part of the paper should be viewed as a survey, however we include some new ideas in the last sections. Namely, we construct a free (?z;rs)-dimonoid, a free (rs;rz)-dimonoid, a free rs-dimonoid, a free (rb;rs)-dimonoid, a free (rs;rb)-dimonoid and characterize the least (?z;rs)-congruence, the least (rs;rz)-congruence, the least rs-congruence, the least (rb;rs)-congruence and the least (rs;rb)-congruence on the free dimonoid. We also establish that the automorphism groups of constructed free algebras are isomorphic to the symmetric group and the semigroups of the free rs-dimonoid are anti-isomorphic.     

Functional Differential Equations With Delay and Random Effects

The authors study the existence of mild solutions to a functional differential equation with delay and random effects. They use a random fixed point theorem with a stochastic domain. An example is included to illustrate their results.     

Universal conditions for algebraic travelling salesman problems to be efficiently solvable

We consider Travelling Salesman Problems (TSPs) where the cost of a tour is an algebraic composition of the cost coefficients that are elements of a totally ordered, commutative semigroup. Conditions for the cost matrix are stated which allow to solve these problems in polynomial time. In particular, we investigate conditions which guarantee that an optimal tour is pyramidal and can therefore be determined in O(n ²) time. Furthermore, we discuss TSP_s with Brownian as well as those with left-upper-triangular cost matrices.     

Boundary Behavior of Semigroups of Holomorphic Mappings on the Unit Ball in C n

We study the asymptotic behavior of semigroups generated by holomorphic mappings by using an infinitesimal version of the boundary Schwarz-Wolff Lemma. In particular, the best rate of exponential convergence is obtained. In addition, we establish a geometrical version of the implicit function theorem.     

On well-posedness of semilinear parabolic and elliptic problems in the hyperbolic space

We investigate existence and uniqueness of solutions to semilinear parabolic and elliptic equations in bounded domains of the n-dimensional hyperbolic space (n?3). Lp→Lq estimates for the semigroup generated by the Laplace-Beltrami operator are obtained and then used to prove existence and uniqueness results for parabolic problems. Moreover, under proper assumptions on the nonlinear function, we establish uniqueness of positive classical solutions and nonuniqueness of singular solutions of the elliptic problem; furthermore, for the corresponding semilinear parabolic problem, nonuniqueness of weak solutions is stated.     

Shades of orthodoxy in Rees-Sushkevich varieties

It is shown that, within the class of Rees-Sushkevich varieties that are generated by completely (0-) simple semigroups over groups of exponent dividing n, there is a hierarchy of varieties determined by the lengths of the products of idempotents that will, if they fall into a group ℋ-class, be idempotent. Moreover, the lattice of varieties generated by completely (0-) simple semigroups over groups of exponent dividing n, with the property that all products of idempotents that fall into group ℋ-classes are idempotent, is shown to be isomorphic to the direct product of the lattice of varieties of groups with exponent dividing n and the lattice of exact subvarieties of a variety generated by a certain five element completely 0-simple semigroup.     

Stability and asymptotic behavior of solutions for some linear partial functional differential equations in critical cases

In this work, we study the stability of the solution semigroup for some linear partial functional differential equations with infinite delay in a Banach space when the exponential stability fails. We use the so-called characteristic equation to compute the order of each pole of the resolvent operator associated with the infinitesimal generator of the solution semigroup. This result allows us to give sufficient conditions for having stability of the solution semigroup.
