Under some mild assumptions on the Lévy measure and the symbol we obtain gradient estimates of Dirichlet heat kernels for pure‐jump isotropic unimodal Lévy processes in .

The martingale problem for a class of nonlocal operators of diagonal type

We consider systems of stochastic differential equations of the form $$\begin{array}{c}\hfill d{X}_t^i=\sum _{j=1}^d{A}_{ij}\left(X_{t?}\right)d{Z}_t^j\end{array}$$ for $i=1,?,d$ with continuous, bounded and non‐degenerate coefficients. Here $Z_t^1,?,Z_t^d$ are independent one‐dimensional stable processes with ${\alpha }_1,?,{\alpha }_d\in (0,2)$. In this article we research on uniqueness of weak solutions to such systems by studying the corresponding martingale problem. We prove the uniqueness of weak solutions in the case of diagonal coefficient matrices.     

Weighted estimates for the multilinear maximal function on the upper half‐spaces

For a general dyadic grid, we give a Calderón–Zygmund type decomposition, which is the principle fact about the multilinear maximal function on the upper half‐spaces. Using the decomposition, we study the boundedness of . We obtain a natural extension to the multilinear setting of Muckenhoupt's weak‐type characterization. We also partially obtain characterizations of Muckenhoupt's strong‐type inequalities with one weight. Assuming the reverse Hölder's condition, we get a multilinear analogue of Sawyer's two weight theorem. Moreover, we also get Hytönen–Pérez type weighted estimates.     

Modifying the physicochemical properties,solubility and foaming capacity of milk proteins by ultrasound-assisted alkaline pH-shifting treatment

This study investigated the effects of different treatment of alkaline pH-shifting on milk protein concentrate (MPC), micellar casein concentrate (MCC) and whey protein isolate (WPI) assisted by the same ultrasound conditions, including changes in the physicochemical properties, solubility and foaming capacity. The solubility of milk proteins had a significant increase with gradual enhancement of ultrasound-assisted alkaline pH-shifting (p < 0.05), especially for MCC up to 99.50 %. Also, treatment made a significant decline in the particle size of MPC and MCC, as well as the turbidity of the proteins (p < 0.05). The foaming capacity of MPC, MCC, and WPI was all improved, especially at pH 11, and at this pH, the milk protein also showed the highest surface hydrophobicity. The best foaming capacity at pH 11 was the result of the combined effect of particle size, potential, protein conformation, solubility, and surface hydrophobicity. In conclusion, ultrasound-assisted pH-shifting treatment was found to be effective in improving the physicochemical properties and solubility and foaming capacity of milk proteins, especially MCC, with promising application prospect in food industry.     

On Entropic Uncertainty Relations for Measurements of Energy and Its “Complement”

Heisenberg's uncertainty principle in application to energy and time is a powerful heuristics. This statement plays an important role in foundations of quantum theory and statistical physics. If some state exists for a finite interval of time, then it cannot have a completely definite value of energy. It is well known that the case of energy and time principally differs from more familiar examples of two non‐commuting observables. Since quantum theory was originated, many approaches to energy–time uncertainties have been proposed. Entropic way to formulate the uncertainty principle is currently the subject of active researches. Using the Pegg concept of complementarity of the Hamiltonian, uncertainty relations of the “energy–time” type are obtained in terms of Rényi and Tsallis entropies. Although this concept is somehow restricted in scope, derived relations can be applied to systems typically used in quantum information processing. Both the state‐dependent and state‐independent formulations are of interest. Some of the derived state‐independent bounds are similar to the results obtained within a more general approach on the basis of sandwiched relative entropies. The developed method allows us to address the case of detection inefficiencies.     

Intersection Poincaré Polynomial for Nagaraj–Seshadri moduli space

We compute Betti numbers of both the components of the moduli space of rank 2 semi‐stable torsion‐free sheaves with fixed determinant over a reducible nodal curve with two smooth components intersecting at a node. We also compute the intersection Betti numbers of the moduli space.     

X-ray diffraction and Raman spectra of merrillite at high pressures

ABSTRACT

The compressibility and effect of pressure on the vibrations of merrillite, Ca₉NaMg(PO₄)₇, were studied by using diamond anvil cell at room temperature combined with in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy up to about 18 and 15?GPa, respectively. The pressure-volume data was fitted by a third-order Birch–Murnaghan equation of state to determine the isothermal bulk modulus as K₀ ?=?87.2(32) GPa with pressure derivative K₀′?=?3.2(4). If K₀′?=?4, the isothermal bulk modulus was obtained as 81.6(10) GPa. The axial compressibility was estimated and an axial elastic anisotropy exists since a-axis is less compressible than the c-axis. The Raman frequencies of all observed modes for merrillite continuously increase with pressure, and the pressure dependences of stretching modes (v ₃ and v ₁) are larger than those of the bending modes (v ₄ and v ₂) and external modes. The isothermal mode Grüneisen parameters and intrinsic anharmonicity of merrillite were also calculated.     

Synthesis of Moracin C and Its Derivatives with a 2-arylbenzofuran Motif and Evaluation of Their PCSK9 Inhibitory Effects in HepG2 Cells

Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) is a key factor in several cardiovascular diseases, as it is responsible for the elevation of circulating low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels in blood plasma by direct interaction with the LDL receptor. The development of orally available drugs to inhibit this PCSK9-LDLR interaction is a highly desirable objective. Here, we report the synthesis of naturally occurring moracin compounds and their derivatives with a 2-arylbenzofuran motif to inhibit PCSK9 expression. In addition, we discuss a short approach involving the three-step synthesis of moracin C and a divergent method to obtain various analogs from one starting material. Among the tested derivatives, compound 7 (97.1%) was identified as a more potent inhibitor of PCSK9 expression in HepG2 cells than berberine (60.9%). These results provide a better understanding of the structure–activity relationships of moracin derivatives for the inhibition of PCSK9 expression in human hepatocytes.
